Rationale for Module |
France is Germany’s most important trade partner
and vice versa. This is why not only the French language but also a deep understanding of the French mentality and the socio-cultural background of the students’ future business contacts is vital for an international career. Additionally, the module is helpful to reflect the students’ own attitude towards France and the Franco-German friendship in relation to the history of these two countries in the 20th and 21th century. |
| Aims |
This module aims to: • develop an integrated understanding of current economic, political and socio-cultural developments in France and the French-speaking world. • provide students with the knowledge and language skills necessary to express themselves on a wide range of business issues for professional and social purposes • enable students to review their own attitudes and values in terms of the similarities and dissimilarities between their own and foreign cultures/societies |
